Fairfield Partner Programs

Fairfield University students have the option to study beyond our Approved Global Programs through a variety of approved partners that can take them to all corners of the world!  Partner program courses will come back as transfer credit and will not carry a grade.  Only Fairfield University students may attend these programs. (Students from other institutions should view our Global Programs and/or Short-Term options)

With more than 50 years of experience, we have the resources and experience to provide what our students want and need in a study abroad program, and to safeguard their welfare around the globe.  AIFS offers a wide range of unique programs in Asia, Australia, Europe, South Africa and the Americas. Most AIFS campuses offer courses in English or in foreign languages from beginner to advanced levels, so you don’t even have to know a foreign language to study abroad.

Blackfrairs Hall, Oxford University - Students must be officially nominated by the Dean’s Office in the College of Arts and Sciences. Fairfield’s top students in the College studying Religion, Philosophy, and English are nominated to apply to be selected to this prestigious institution. Students who are nominated, selected and admitted, will attend classes at Blackfriars Hall in the University of Oxford. Please note, Blackfriars Hall accepts a maximum of 10 visiting students each year from around the world.

CYA - College Year Athens SemesterSummer or Summer Honors Options - The College Year in Athens experience is designed to guide students to a greater understanding and appreciation of Greece--ancient, medieval and modern--and the surrounding region. The program of studies juxtaposes the history and contributions of ancient Greece with the Greece of today: a country situated at the confluence of Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa, partaking of the culture of her neighbors to the north, east and south, and bound to them by history and geography.

College Year in Athens offers a substantial curriculum at the junior-year level augmented by study-travel to important historical sites. Courses cover the following disciplines: Archaeology, Art History, Classical Languages, Environmental Studies, Ethnography, History, International Relations, Literature, Modern Greek Language, Philosophy, Political Science, and Religion.

Koobi Fora Field School - George Washington University has partnered with the National Museums of Kenya to offer undergraduate and graduate students on-the-ground experience in paleoanthropology at the Koobi Fora Field School (KFFS). Located on the eastern shore of Lake Turkana, Kenya, KFFS is the world’s premier field research and training program in paleoanthropology. The Koobi Fora area is protected within the Sibiloi National Park in Kenya and is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Its rich Pliocene, Pleistocene and Holocene sedimentary deposits have yielded a treasure trove of fossils and archaeological materials.

Sogang University* - Sogang provides top-notch education to support students’ development with 24 regular and 11 interdisciplinary programs at the undergraduate level, and 24 regular and 5 interdisciplinary programs at the graduate level. Sogang has a number of academic offerings in the School of Humantiies and International Cultures, and School of Social Sciences which aligns closely with Fairfield Univeristies curriculum. Exchange students are fully integrated into the regular programs with Korean students. This allows exchange students to experience Korean culture to the fullest extent.

Washington Internship Institute Semester and Summer Options is an educational nonprofit organization dedicated to preparing college students and recent graduates for their future through substantive internships in  Washington, D.C. During a semester or summer in Washington, DC, you will learn about yourself and your field while enjoying the excitement of our nation’s capital. You will become an engaged and informed citizen and a leader equipped to make a difference in the world.
